"Bzzt, bzzt, bzzt."
Fox felt silly for assuming the order he found them in made a difference. He could have found them in any order he wanted to. Could it have been that he was inputting the wrong numbers altogether?
Just then, he heard a loud screech coming from the hatch above. The latch seemed to be less than a minute away from opening the emergency escape hatch.

He got a bolt of inspiration
Maybe he should add the number of sides to the result, so
the four sided dice, landed on 1 making 5
In that case 5 9
well the two eight siders were a problem, they would make 10 and 12 and he was pretty sure that wouldn't work. He added the resulting numbers together.
5 9 1 3

"Bzzt, bzzt, bzzt."
That didn't work either. Fox began to wonder if he should stop assuming that the order of the numbers was arbitrary.
He had 30 seconds left. There had to be a correct combination. This green case was the only thing left for him to solve. He could feel it. A single password, and he'd be out of there, alive.

He was running out of ideas, Fox hovered over the dice sat frozen on the metal table and lifted them up, one by one in the following order
4, 8-1, 6, 8-2
This was a clear 1-4 order.
He looked to see what number was on the bottom side, after all that might be the side with the strongest magnetic pull.

The numbers were exactly what he should have expected. On the bottom of the six-sided die was the number 4. After all... 7 - 3 = 4On the bottom of the first eight-sided die was the number 7. After all... 9 - 2 = 7And on the bottom of the second eight-sided die was 5. After all... 9 - 4 = 5However, one die had no number on the bottom. It was the four-sided die. As Fox could see, four-sided dice had the shape of a tetrahedron. A die this shape could have no number on the bottom, as the landing number was denoted by the point on top, rather than a flat face. Fox again felt silly for his error. What's more, even if the four-sided die could have had a number on its bottom side, he still wouldn't have known which order to input the numbers in. He needed to look at the puzzle from a different perspective. He was running out of time. He could hear the latch above him on the verge of opening.

It looked like this was his last shot. He looked again at the numbers. It wasn't the number on the bottom, so maybe it was the number on top?
The first 8 sided die landed on 1, so that was the first.....
With what could be his last breath, his entered the numbers in the numerical order of how many sides there were.
8 6 4 8

"Beep beep."
The green case finally opened. What he found inside was two items. A yellow key-card, and a...
Yellow Key-card: - A plastic yellow key-card. - Has the word "Life" printed on it in dark yellow. Below it is the number 9, in a brighter dark yellow.
Small knife: - A small but sharp knife, which can be held in one hand. - The blade is retractable. - About 4 inches long.

Fox snatched the life card and the knife.
He moved without thinking, his fingers moving at their own will.
He slid the blade of the knife in between his jeans and his belt, and swiped the life card through the card reader.

"Bee-beep."
The scanner beeped in confirmation with the key-card. Slowly, the exit door swung open inward, allowing Fox to escape at last.
- - - YOU FOUND IT - - -

"Thank Fucking Shit"
Fox barreled head first through the opened door.
He was finally out of that room.
He was this close.... this close to dying.
His heart was beating a mile a minute, his palms were sweaty
If he didn't calm down fast, he'd die of a heart attack. Wouldn't that be ironic?
Fox stood still, closed his eyes and took deep calming breaths.
He was alive.
Fox opened his eyes and took in his new surroundings.

He was now in a thin hallway, lined with square doors identical to the one he came out of. It was a clean white color, and slightly brighter than the room where he woke up.
The large door had closed behind him just as he exited the room. He could hear the hatch open on the other side. Through the door's window, he watched as all the office supplies were sucked out into space, followed by the brown cup, and everything else that had been loose in that room.

" I ... uh "
Fox watched the destruction listlessly. All he could think of was how close he was to death.
He turned and looked at the square doors. He didn't particularly want to go inside any of them.
It was then that he saw it...
" Wha? A knife? "
Withdrawing the blade, he admired it. Did he.... was this in the box with the life card? His mind seemed to already be repressing the last 10 minuets of his life.
" Why a knife? "
Fox wondered aloud, before replacing it in his make-shift holster.

As he wondered, he noticed something else too... his bracelet. The screen had changed.
Minutes ago, it had displayed nothing but "- -", as though it had not been set. But now that he had escaped the room, the watch displayed the number 9.

Fox gazed at the watch... he had almost forgotten about t.
"Nine... wasn't there a nine on the life card? The time limit too... that was nine minutes . "
He took this opportunity to try to remove the watch, but it seemed to be as he first thought.
The infernal thing was here to stay.
" Where did that Rolex go? "
Not that he particularly cared for his fathers outrageous gifts, but the thought of Mr Evil Gasmask wearing it, stirred up his overdue feeling of rage.

With that, there was nothing left to do, but float down the thin hallway of doors and see what awaited him.

He did so, peering into every door as he passed. Trying to open them.

Each door he peered into was locked, giving him no choice but to proceed further down the hall. It wasn't terribly long, but its square shape made it easy for him to lose his bearings in the gravity-free environment. It wasn't long before he arrived at the Command Room.
[Fox moved to Command Room, 11:39pm.]
