Unfortunately, when he attempted to unclamp the red book, it wouldn't budge. Perhaps they were clamped tighter than they appeared. Either that, or it could have been that only the red book was stuck. Trying another book may have yielded better results.
The spine of the red book had the title printed on it. Apparently, it was called "Start Here".

Fox logged that data away for further reflection....
speaking of reflection, Fox noticed the mirror, his head hadn't stopped pounding since he woke up, he dreaded to think what he looked like, with some restraint, Fox moved to look in the mirror.

As Fox floated toward the mirror, he noticed a green 4-sided die taped to it. It was just like the other three dice he had found, only with 4 sides this time. Tall Mirror:- Attached to the wall, not far from the bookshelf. - It was quite dirty. - There was a 4-sided die taped to it. 4-sided die:- A green die with 4 sides. However, before grabbing it, he looked at his own reflection. His face looked worse than he had feared. There were huge rings under his eyes. He looked incredibly weak and malnourished. If not for his familiar clothes, he would almost have looked like a stranger to himself. His hair was a mess, and his overall body shape looked terrible. It was as though he hadn't gotten any exercise for 20 years. Just then, a sharp memory hit him...

Fox gagged as the image burned into his mind.
That... that fucker... he was the one.
The memory started flooding back in full. He had decided to stay late in the library, the other guys left hours before he did, usually he would have gone with them but he wanted, no needed to fininsh writing this particular chapter.
When he was finally satisfied Fox started walking towards his cabin. It was past 1am, but the Creative Writing Camp was well furnished with old fashioned lamp posts.
His meager cabin was in sight when he heard the strange noise... it was like... well at the time Fox thought it was a snake hissing. They had be warned that there was an outside chance of one attacking.
He remembered spinning around, but instead of a snake...
it was that guy... that freak in the gas mask.
The next thing he knew he was floating.
Wiping a stray tear from one eye, Fox grabbed the die and walked over to the metal table. He rolled it half-heartedly.

Like the other three dice, this one bounced on the metal desk, as though being pulled down by gravity. Seconds later, its bouncing ceased, and the result could be seen. The four-sided die had landed on 3.
Fox looked over the dice again, to see what he could make of them.
The four-sided die landed on 3. The six-sided die landed on 2. The first eight-sided die landed on 1. The second eight-sided die landed on 4.

" 1, 2 ,3 and 4 huh?"
Fox was whispering to himself.
Was there anything in this room that could fit those numbers? His eyes glazed around the room, before setting on the bookcase. True he hadn't been able to fully investigate it.
Fox rubbed his face, he was tired, as if, for all the time that he must of been asleep, he didn't rest at all. He turned his eyes to the torn sleeping bag he had awaken from. Fox floated toward it and instigated the remains.

The sleeping bag lay on a bed, along with a fluffy pillow. It showed many signs of use, suggesting that he wasn't the first or even fifth one to sleep in it.
Bed: - Had a sleeping bag tied down to it. This is where he had been sleeping. - There was one pillow tied to it as well. This is where his head was resting. - With some force, it seemed likely that he could reach his hand under either of them.

He reached for the pillow and stuffed his hand underneath.

After a thorough check under the pillow, he felt a thin, pole-like object. Pulling it out, he discovered that it was a flashlight.
Flashlight: - A thin teal flashlight. - Has a black switch on the side.
He tried to recall if he had encountered anything that was too dark to see, recently.

He moved towards the cabinet that had stored the food, opening the door with his left hand, whilst scanning inside with the flashlight with his right.

However, he quickly realized that the flashlight wouldn't turn on. He had not realized it due to the lack of gravity, but the flashlight contained no batteries. To see into the back of the cabinet, he would have to find some.

"Hmmm"
Fox headed back to the sleeping area, it was only a hunch, but he checked under the bed for any batteries.

No luck. He found nothing but fluff under the sleeping bag. Where could the batteries have been, he wondered? Perhaps he had already been near some recently, and simply overlooked them.

Suddenly he remembered the alarm clock.... he was sure it had no power cable, yet was working just fine. The ear splitting alarm was proof of that.
Making a beeline for it, he prayed it contained the correct batteries.

Digital alarm clock: - The current time was 11:37 AM. - The clock didn't have a power-cable coming out of it. - On the back, was a small battery compartment, containing two AA batteries.
His search was a success. Inside the clock were two AA batteries, ripe for the picking. But something caught his eye... the time. It had been 11:30 when he woke up. That meant he had less than 2 minutes before the hatch opened. The screeching from the hatch above him continued to remind him of that.

"Gotta hurry"
Fox carefully placed the batteries in the flashlight, taking care that they were inserted the right way. He attempted to test it. Before returning to the dark cabinet.

The flashlight turned on as he had hoped. It emitted a bright light that instantly uncovered anything hidden in the darkness within its path.

Hope filled him, he zoomed over to investigate the dark cabinet.

As he got closer to the cabinet, the back of it became brighter, until he could see it clearly. What he found inside was a small code, scratched into the bottom of the back right corner. The code was "2R 2D 3L 1U".

" Must be about those books "
He thought about the dice
The four-sided die landed on 3. The six-sided die landed on 2. The first eight-sided die landed on 1. The second eight-sided die landed on 4.
He decided to get a better look at those grey books, while he was thinking.

The books were just as he had left them. Three rows, each containing nine books. None of them seemed to have anything special about them, and the titles were all fairly normal, except for one... the red book, with the title "Start Here". The book still laid in the topmost row, fourth one from the left, and it still couldn't be removed.

From the red book, he went 2 places right, 2 places down, 3 places left and 1 place up. He attempted to remove this book.

Like all the other grey books, it came out of the clamp fairly easily. However, there was something different about it. Almost as though it wasn't really a book.

What he found inside was a green compartment, embedded in a rectangular hole that went through all the pages. It seemed to be the same shade of green as the dice he had found.
Green case: - It was locked. The case would not not open. - There was a number pad on the front of it, with an "Enter" button. - The screen above the number pad showed spaces for 4 digits: "- - - -"

There were only so many combinations after all. Fox entered the following numbers 1 3 2 4
