Oh.. I get it.
Good job Mei!
I can't believe I didn't see the squares and cubes as more than just the shapes. >_>

Great job! Now what's inside of this special locker?

Inside the locker, you find... a Life Card. Presumably, the one intended for unlocking the next set of numbered doors. In addition, you see an odd square of dried paint in the back wall. Seems like it was half-way scratched off. Through the scratches, you can make out two symbols. Doesn't seem like anything noteworthy. Should they bother doing anything about this finding?

Try scratching the rest of the paint off, to see more of it. >_>

They scratch off more of the paint... It looks to be some kind of logo for a company. Wataru feels like he's heard of it before, but can't quite remember... They decide to keep it in mind. It may be an important hint. With that, they move on to the next room.

When they enter, the door closes behind them The room is completely pitch black. They can't even see their hand in front of their face. They feel around the room, and eventually find a light switch. They turn it on... Green. The entire room becomes pure green. This light seems to emit nothing but green light. On the left wall, they see a yellow " 28". On the right wall, they see a cyan " 211". They see 2 other light switches in the room. (Let's call the three switches A, B, and C. Light switch A is currently on). There is a box on the floor in the middle, with a keyboard pad on it. Seems to require a 6-digit password. What do they do next?

Try flicking one of the other light switches and see what changes

I'd suggest turning on the other light switches by themselves as well to see if any other numbers appear.

Which switch should they flick next? B or C?
|
|
|
Post by Fox Wilder on Aug 9, 2013 14:37:11 GMT -5
Let's go in alphabetical order B.
|
|
|
Post by Zero on Aug 9, 2013 14:42:25 GMT -5
They flick Switch B to the "on" position. They notice that upon doing so, Switch A flips off. Now the room is completely red, from a pure red light. There is no longer a number on the left wall. On the middle wall is a yellow " 255". On the right wall is a magenta " 211". Now what do you do?

Let's flip C next.

Post by Zero on Aug 9, 2013 14:56:47 GMT -5
They flick Switch C to the "on" position. They notice that upon doing so, Switch B flips off. Now the room is completely blue, from a pure blue light. On the left wall is a magenta " 28". On the middle wall is a cyan " 255". There is no longer a number on the right wall. What password should they put into the keyboard pad on the box? It can have both letters and numbers.

I get the feeling this involves Hex in some way. Considering the 6-digit password, and one of the numbers being 255.

For those of you who have difficulty understanding Hexidecimal conversions, I'll allow you to use a Base calculator. This should help: goo.gl/Mh3VFs

Yeah me too.
So I've noticed that the middle wall is always 255, the right is always 211 and left always 28.
Not sure that relevant though.

An... astute observation.

|
|
Post by Mei Kasonoda on Aug 9, 2013 15:12:49 GMT -5
...Pretty obvious that the numbers won't change no matter what. It's not like the wall is a screen or something that can move. The only thing changing when you flick the switch is the color of light in the room.

|
|
Post by Blake Donovan on Aug 9, 2013 15:14:46 GMT -5
Right. The numbers shouldn't change. I wonder if the colors of the numbers on the wall are significant though. Each time a different switch is flipped the colors change. Though it could just simply be they change according to the room's color.
I'm probably over-thinking that.

Well if the light is red, and the number is green, then the number will appear yellow. Y'know, 'cause red + green = yellow. That's what colored lights do.
Same goes for the disappearing numbers. Godot can't see red, because his visor glows red. Likewise in this case, when the only light in the entire room is red, any red numbers will disappear. Makes sense, right?

Yeah, it does. I thought it seemed irrelevant.

Right. Okay.
I was just throwing out an observation.

|
|
Post by Mei Kasonoda on Aug 9, 2013 15:24:58 GMT -5
Who knows though. I mean, the colors may mean something. Part of the puzzle could just be figuring out what color each number is. In that case, 28 is red, 255 is green, and 211 blue.

So Blake, do you have an idea? I'm pretty sure I've figured out what to do.

Post by Blake Donovan on Aug 9, 2013 15:35:29 GMT -5
I'm pretty sure we need to convert the three numbers into letters using hexadecimal, right?

Yup, sounds like it. He posted a converter link above. Wanna do the honors?

That was what I thought but I couldn't make that link to work on my 3DS >__>.
