That's close enough. You were just supposed to turn around and run backwards on the treadmill (didn't even know you could set them to go backwards). But the numbers are right.

I knew you had to run backwards on the treadmill, I was just busy trying to calculate the numbers.

You just multiply the diameter by pi, lol.

Gah, math is one of my worst subjects because I always try to overcomplicate everything when the answer is staring me in the face. XD

So, here's the next puzzle:
PUZZLE:
You find a metal detector and a high-resistance stretch band in the compartment that unlocks upon solving the treadmill puzzle. The metal detector leads you to an oddly-colored case on the wall. But there doesn't seem to be any mechanism for opening the case. The treadmill from before is still planted firmly in place, not far away.
What do you do?

I'm guessing you'd have to wrap the stretch band around both the treadmill and the case, have someone run on it, and somehow have the band pull on the case and open it...

The case doesn't have a handle, or anything else that you could tie the band to, unfortunately.

Well there goes my idea.

Maybe you... tie one end of the stretch band to part of the treadmill, then have Numb hold the other end? Then have Wataru take one of the heavy weights (which would be really easy, because it's space), and use the stretch band as a makeshift slingshot to make the weight crash into the case, cracking it open?

|
|
Post by Zero on Aug 7, 2013 16:57:26 GMT -5
That's correct. Just wanted to tie up the loose end with the weight.

Huh. Forgot about the whole space thing.

So, what's next?

I'm here too guys.

Numb scans the Life Card in the card reader, and they're about to go through to the next room. But something stops them. There is a locker in the room that hasn't been opened yet. It seems rather out of place, as the only mechanism in the room that hasn't been unlocked. Do they know the code for it?

Could it be connected to that strange code Mei found outside earlier?

|
Post by Zero on Aug 9, 2013 13:24:33 GMT -5
Why are you asking me? Do you want a hint already? >_>
|
|
|
Post by Fox Wilder on Aug 9, 2013 13:26:30 GMT -5
No, I'm not asking for a hint. >_>
Can we examine the locker to see if there is an input device?
|
|
|
Post by Zero on Aug 9, 2013 13:30:08 GMT -5
Wataru examines the locker, and finds that it has a typical padlock on it. It's the type you have to spin the various wheels to the right numbers, in order to unlock. This one has 8 wheels, which each go from 0-9. Spin them to the correct numbers.

So what are you all thinking? Fox? Blake?

Post by Fox Wilder on Aug 9, 2013 13:33:29 GMT -5
"I might have an idea... remember that code you found earlier Mei? The one about the cubes and squares? What was it again, a square with a 6 inside, a cube with a 3 inside, a square with a 9 inside and then a cube with a 4 inside? What if we multiply the numbers by the number of sides of the shapes? So 24183616?"

Nope.

|
Post by Mei Kasonoda on Aug 9, 2013 13:37:29 GMT -5
What gave you that?
|
|
|
Post by Blake Donovan on Aug 9, 2013 13:38:18 GMT -5
Well, given that we have the Life Card the code has to do with something that isn't in this room. Nothing really comes to mind, however as to what the code itself could be.

Ok, next plan. >_>

Looks like you did the math wrong, lol. 4x6 isn't 16.

Post by Fox Wilder on Aug 9, 2013 13:42:58 GMT -5
Lol. Oops, I must have thought it was a square when I wrote it down.
So is 24183624 also wrong?

Yup, it's also wrong.
