"RIIIIIIIIING!!!"
An ear-splitting noise rang loudly in Blake's ear, waking him from his slumber.

Quickly, Blake jumped up, alerted by the harsh sound of the ringing. He stumbled over clutching his ears, trying to gain some sense of his surroundings.
"Damn...! What the hell is with this ringing?!"
He shouted, the sound of his voice echoing across the room. Blake opened his eyes and squinted in order to examine what was inside of his room.

The small room was a dim-white color, almost reaching "gray" territory. The lights were hardly bright enough to see from one end of the room to another, but he could see enough to know that he was in an unfamiliar room. A night-table with a digital alarm clock stood to the side of him. This, no doubt, had been the source of the ringing. A few feet away was a circular window, no wider than 2 feet in diameter.
As more objects came into his focus however, he realized something startling. His feet were not on the ground. He was floating in mid-air, carried by nothing but momentum.

Blake's eyes widened as he realized that his feet were not touching solid ground.
"Wh-What the...? You're kidding! I must be dreaming, or hallucinating. There's no way people can just float unless..."
Blake composed himself and gathered his thoughts. Was he somehow in space? No, that didn't make sense...the alarm clock that had so rudely awoken him was lying on the nightstand.
"What a stupid thing to think. I don't appear to be in any immediate danger, despite how absurd this situation may be..."
The window on the wall came into Blake's vision, and he tried to maneuver himself to peek through it.

As he peeked through the window, his fears were confirmed though. There was nothing but stars and space as far as his eyes could see. Small pieces of debris slowly passed by the window, only confirming it further. He was definitely in space.

Blake's mouth opened in stunned silence. He was taken aback at the beautiful sight in front of him, but quickly snapped out of it as the realization kicked in.
"Okay...it looks like I am in fact in space. How in the hell did I get here?! I didn't just happen to wander up here! And if I didn't come here of my own will..."
He refused to acknowledge that someone had kidnapped him. He absolutely could not acknowledge that he had once again, been taken advantage of. Whoever did this to him was going to pay.
"First things first, I need to find a way out. There-There has to be a door."

As Blake's eyes scanned the room for a door, he noticed one on the other side of the room. It was dark gray, and had a square shape, suggesting no one side of it as "top" or "bottom". Without gravity, it didn't make a difference either way.
Before he could wiggle his floating body towards it however, he noticed something else. On his left wrist. It was some sort of bracelet... unlike any he'd ever seen before. On the top was a screen, giving off the impression of it being a digital watch. However, it didn't display any numbers. All it showed was "- -". Two dashes. As though there was nothing for it to display yet.

"How did this get on me...? What an odd looking watch."
Instinctively, Blake began to tug on it to see if there was a way to get it off. He examined the back of the bracelet as well in order to see if there was a sort of clasp on it.

To his dismay, there was nothing on the back, and the watch wouldn't come loose, no matter how hard he tugged. It was so tight that he couldn't even fit his finger under the strap.

"Damn...I suppose I'm stuck with this thing for now. Now about that door..."
Blake began to move towards the door, and he set himself up to shove his body weight into it. That's when he realized...
"That's not exactly going to work. It's probably much too heavy for me to simply push over. That and...I'm in space."
He sighed, and wondered how he was going to escape this room.

The door didn't have any apparent knob. Though Blake had looked over the door clearly, he didn't see any way to open it from the inside...
Just then, a small button caught his eye. It was a dim red color, glowing a couple feet to the side of the door. It had not occurred to hm at first, but perhaps they were connected. The word "open" was printed just above it, as if telling him that it was his salvation.

His eyes noticed the faint red glare the button gave off.
"Open, huh?"
He smirked to himself, and immediately reached out to touch the button.
"It's not like I have much of a choice..."

As soon as his finger pressed the button, a speaker above him turned on. Out came a robotic recording of a female voice.
"You have selected to activate the emergency escape hatch. In 9 minutes, the hatch above you will open, allowing you and the contents of this room to be sucked out into the deep vacuum of space. If this action was made in error, please scan your Life card here. Otherwise, we hope you enjoy your stay in space. Have a nice day."
As soon as the recording ended, a metal box of some sort popped out of the wall by the button. It appeared to be some kind of key-card scanner. But before he could make sense of it, he heard a creaking sound come from above him.
In the center of the ceiling was a large hatch. This must have been the one referred to in the recording. A large wheel-shaped lock kept the hatch closed, putting a safe wall between him and outer space. But something wasn't right... the wheel was slowly turning, creaking with each inch.

"L-Life card?! What the hell is that?"
A wave of fear overcame Blake, and he frantically began to pat down his pockets, trying to see if there was something, anything he could use to escape the room.

He found nothing, however. Not even a single piece of lint. He had no items on him, other than his clothes and the strange bracelet on his left arm. With no other choice left, he had to search the room for this "Life card".
- - - SEEK A WAY OUT - - -
- Observable objects: -
Left side: - Bed - Night-table with alarm clock - Metal desk - Chair at desk - Circular window
Right side: - Wooden cabinet - Tall mirror - Bookshelf - Exit door - Key-card scanner

Blake closed out all other thoughts from his head. He was calm. He needed to be calm in order to save his life. Luckily, he did well under pressure. Blake positioned himself by putting his feet up against the well, and pushed off towards the cabinet to examine it.

Wooden Cabinet: - The cabinet was a few feet to the right of the bed. It seemed to be made of a strong wood. - Upon trying to open it, he found that that it was locked. There was a keyhole on the right door of it. - There was nothing else of interest on or near the cabinet.

Making a mental note to find a key, Blake turned towards the bookshelf instead and proceeded with his examination.

Moving toward the bookshelf, he noticed something about all the furniture in the room. Each piece was either nailed to the floor, or built into the wall. Now that his mind was clear, it occurred to him that this was the reason nothing else was floating.
Bookshelf: - The shelf had 3 rows of books, each holding 9 books. This made 27 books in total. - The 4th book from the left, on the topmost row, was red. All the other books were grey. - Each book was held in place by a clamp. Blake could only assume that this was to prevent them from flying out of the shelve in this gravity-free environment. - However, it looked as though he could easily unclamp a book to take it out, if he wished.

Blake smirked to himself.
"Those red books definitely clash with the decor here. I'm willing to bet I'm going to need them."
He tried to unclamp the topmost red book to start with, and then went downward from there.

However, as he began to unclamp the first book, he realized that it was actually gray. He must have misread what he saw, as there was only one red book on the shelf.
It was the 4th book from the left, on the topmost row. Looking at it more closely, he saw the title of it printed on the spine. It was called "Start Here."

"...Am I going color blind?"
He stared at the words on the spine, trying to piece together a meaning.
"I'm probably gonna have to pull them out in a set order. Can't do that now. Maybe there's some sort of code I can follow."
He turned toward the desk and pushed off towards the opposite wall to take a look at it.

The momentum of his push carried him quickly to the desk. Upon his arrival, he saw something interesting.
Metal desk: - It seemed to be made of metal. - There was a green 6-sided die laying on it. Oddly enough, it wasn't floating. - Near the die, there was a brown dice-rolling cup taped to the desk. - The desk had two drawers. A right one, and a left one.

Immediately, his eyes were caught on the green die.
"Why is it not floating...? Even if it were heavy, weight has no meaning in space!"
He began to divert his eyes to the two desk drawers. Using both of his hands, he attempted to open them up.

When he opened the drawers, he was immediately greeted with a flood of pencils, paper, and other desk-tools, flying out due to the lack of gravity. The objects blocked his vision from the drawers as they spread out in the air. One pencil made its way toward his face at a startling speed.

"Woah!"
He ducked down once he saw the pencil fly towards him.
"Why are there even office supplies here?! We're in outer space, not some goddamn business!"

When the supplies finally cleared out of the way, Blake could see into the bottom of the drawers. Inside the right one, there was an object taped to the inside.
Key: - A black key, taped to the bottom of the drawer.

"At least I know where this goes to."
He peeled back the tape and removed the key from the bottom of the bottom of the drawer. Before he floated over to the cabinet, Blake decided to pick up the strange die and take it with him. He then went back over to the cabinet and attempted to use the key with its keyhole.

On his way to the cabinet, something occurred to him. The die had taken some extra force to remove from the desk. Why was that? Thinking back, the dice had not been floating in the air like it was supposed to. Perhaps it was magnetic? The desk was made of metal, so it was entirely possible.
Having realized that, he arrived at the cabinet, and tried using the key.
The wooden cabinet opened successfully. Once unlocked, the mere momentum from removing the key caused the cabinet to open all the way.
Wooden Cabinet: - It was very dark inside the cabinet. Blake couldn't even see the back wall of it clearly. - But from what he could see, it contained neat rows of vacuum-sealed packs, each containing some sort of snack food. They were all dry and dehydrated, as if prepared specifically to be stored in a gravity-free environment. - The rows were all fastened to the floor of the shelf. However, there appeared to be something trapped under one of them.

Seeing the packs elicited an eye roll from Blake.
"Oh, fantastic. Now I can have a snack provided I don't get sent out into deep space with no hope for survival."
He was about to close the cabinet and investigate something else when he noticed that there was indeed something trapped under one of the packs. He tried to reach for it and grab what might be under there.
