That's correct. And the digital root part wasn't even intentional... o__O

On second thought, it's just a natural result of the fact that you split up "999" to get it. Any factors of a number with a digital root of 9 will always have the same digital root when added together.

9 is such a freaky number.

Yeah, number 9 has always creeped me out.

Anyway... moving on. After inputting the numbers correctly, the the disc-drive ejects a Life Card. Let's do a vote. Which of the 5 players in the room should get the card?
A: Fox B: Saru C: Wataru D: Nona E: Blake

Funny thing, in the UK 999 is the emergency service number ala 911. When ever I recommend 999 as a game most people think it's an ambulance sim.

Sorry for the error in the previous post.
Um, if not Fox then Blake or Wataru.

When ever I recommend 999 as a game most people think it's an ambulance sim. Phoo, that must be annoying. I vote Fox.

Realistically, one of the players who hasn't obtained one at the moment. But there would probably have been a fight over it.
My choice would be Fox too.

So... Fox votes for either Fox, Blake, or Wataru. Mei voter for Fox. Blake votes for either Fox, Blake, Wataru, Nona, or Saru.
It looks like Fox is wanted 3 times more than anyone else. Let's go with him, then.

Fox gets the life card, and the team passes on through the next door. Just as they do so, their watches ring. It seems that another hour has passed.
Current LP totals: - Fox: 12 - Blake: 11 - Wataru: 2 - Nona: 3 - Saru: 3
Wataru, Nona, and Saru still need Life Cards.
The next room appears to be some sort of operating room. The room has no other doors, aside from the entrance and exit, making it fairly straightforward.
In this room, they must first find a number of operating tools, in order to preform a surgery on an anatomically-accurate human model. This model is made of fleshy material, and does bleed when cut, making it feel as through you're cutting into a real person. The operation is to perform a surgical removal of a Life Card from the "patient's" heart.

I see.
However, there is something special about this model. She... can talk! The model has artificial facial expressions, and will speak to you as you try to escape the room. She's quite friendly. If you fail to keep her "alive" during the heart operation, you lose and can never acquire the Life card from within her. This means no accidents, and no allowing her to lose too much blood. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as an anesthetic for robots.

So it can actually feel pain?

Post by Zero on Jul 23, 2013 16:49:52 GMT -5
Feel pain? Do you recall the Chinese Room? It doesn't "feel" anything. If you make an improper incision, she will react in the way a human would. But it's all programming. You see a lifelike personality in her, but in reality she's just outputting information through the "door" between you two, based on what you input. She's also programmed to cease functioning if her blood level goes below too low, or her heart stops.

Anyway, I've only designed one puzzle for this room, since you hadn't reached it yet. This puzzle is the digital lock on the heart-rate module that is required for you to begin the operation. We can start the puzzle tomorrow, since eponastar is leaving.
